ABOUT
One of the main causes for increasing N20 emissions in North America is management of manure application to soils. The research conducted in this study concludes that applying liquid manure through subsurface drip instead of flood irrigation reduces harmful emissions. This project was initiated and funded by Sustainable Conservation and carried out in collaboration with Netafilm and a local California dairy farmer with the goal of finding more efficient ways to manage manure while also reducing our carbon footprint.
